Electricity Tariff Adjustment For Peninsular Malaysia For The Period Of 1st January To 30th June 2023

On 16th December 2022, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC) has made an announcement on the Electricity Tariff Adjustment for Peninsular Malaysia for the period of 1st January 2023 To 30th June 2023
The government has made some adjustments as below :
1. All domestic users will not incur any tariff increase following the electricity tariff adjustment through the Imbalance Cost Pass-Through (ICPT) mechanism.
2. Lower voltage (LV) non domestic users which includes micro businesses, small and medium enterprises including restaurants, groceries, bakeries, small workshops and such will not be facing any electricity tariff increase.
3. Farmers and animal breeders which are categorised as specific agriculture (tariff H) will also not incur any electricity tariff increase.
4. Medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) users among industry participants including multinational corporations will face a surcharge at the rate of 20 sen/kWj.
